Ukrainian drone manufacturer "Warbirds of Ukraine" presented the deep strike drone "Zozulya" with a flight range of 2,100 kilometers at the Brave1 Defense Tech Valley 2025 exhibition.

The drone has a maximum take-off weight of 170 kg and can carry a warhead from 10 to 50 kg, depending on the mission range. If the Zozulya can drop from 10 to 15 kg of warhead at a distance of 2,100 km, then with a maximum warhead of 50 kg, the drone operates at a distance of up to 1,100 km.

The drone's cruising speed is 130 km/h. The maximum speed is 180 km/h. It is equipped with a single-cylinder internal combustion engine, but in the future, the developers do not rule out integrating a hybrid power plant into the UAV.

"Zozulya" uses various CRPA antennas. The drone is equipped with a visual navigation system and has a system for counteracting enemy spoofing. In the aircraft's flight controller, the developers used an inertial system of their own design, which, in the absence of GPS, avoids large deviations from the course for a long time.

"Our drone can take off from an airfield or from another prepared site. It can also be launched from a catapult manufactured by another company and into which we integrated this drone. At the same time, we leave the chassis on the drone, since before being transferred to the troops, drones undergo mandatory flight tests and testing," Vadym, a representative of the Warbirds of Ukraine company, told Defense.

The cost of the drone is about $40,000. The company is currently working on upgrading the drone's communications and some other systems.

For the operators, the developers used a unified interface that is compatible with the company's other drones. This allowed to speed up the retraining process and simplify the training of pilots.

"Zozulya" has already been tested and codified by the Ministry of Defense. The military is already purchasing these drones, and to date the company has produced about 100 drones.

Drones have already been successfully used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces for strike missions in occupied territories.

"Warbirds of Ukraine" envisions the "Zozulya" not only as a kamikaze drone, but also as a modification of a reconnaissance aircraft, a repeater, an ammunition carrier, or an interceptor drone.

Let us recall that the Defense Tech Valley 2025 exhibition brought together hundreds of solutions in the field of Ukrainian defense tech. For example, the Ukrainian Clarity program was shown there, which analyzes drone images and automatically marks suspicious enemy objects on them, which allows the Ukrainian military to plan fire operations.
