German Smetanin again headed UkrOboronProm following the results of the competition

German Smetanin has been appointed head of UkrOboronProm for the second time, according to a statement from the strategic manufacturer of weapons and military equipment in Ukraine.

"Following the results of the competition for the position of General Director of the Joint-Stock Company "Ukrainian Defense Industry", the Supervisory Board of the Company appointed a new head - German Smetanin," the message said.

UkrOboronProm noted that there were a total of 14 candidates for the position. Their selection and evaluation were conducted by the international company Odgers Berndtson, which specializes in the selection of top-level managers.

"The decision to appoint a new Director General was made after final interviews with candidates who were shortlisted based on the results of the preliminary selection," the JSC said in a statement.

German Smetanin already headed UkrOboronProm in 2023, but was later appointed head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine. Before that, he worked in the management of several armored enterprises.

It became known in July this year that Herman Smetanin would once again head UkrOboronProm. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in one of his evening addresses.
