Denmark allowed the construction of a Ukrainian rocket fuel production plant, bypassing more than 20 laws

The Danish government has approved a decision allowing the construction of a plant by the Ukrainian company Fire Point in the city of Skridstrup, ignoring more than 20 existing laws and regulations. This is reported by the Danish publication DR. The plant will specialize in the production of solid rocket fuel, a key component for Ukrainian missiles.

The new law gives the Danish government the right to repeal or reject other legislation if the project is important for national defense or in cases of civil emergency. It also limits citizens' ability to appeal such decisions. The law is set to expire at the end of 2028.

Among the acts that could be ignored are laws on environmental protection, planning, and nature protection. The law provides for the possibility of forced land acquisition for construction projects, and also simplifies procedures for the establishment of defense enterprises, including Ukrainian ones, and the construction of military barracks.

As explained by Kristoffer Badse, chief legal advisor at Danish think tank Justitia, Fire Point will be temporarily exempted from the Major Accident Hazard Regulation. This means that the company is not required to comply with a number of requirements aimed at preventing large-scale incidents and minimizing harm to people and the environment.

The Danish authorities plan to continuously supervise the construction, cooperate with the company and seek practical solutions to address safety, health and environmental issues.

Fire Point is known for developing the long-range FP-1 and FP-2 drones, as well as the Flamingo missile, which has a range of 3,000 km. In addition, the company is developing the FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles and air defense systems.
