Estonia received a new batch of French CAESAR howitzers
A new batch of CAESAR wheeled self-propelled artillery systems has arrived in Estonia, according to information from the country's Ministry of Defense on platform X.
"Arrived! Estonia has received 6 more new French-made CAESAR wheeled self-propelled howitzers — further boosting our firepower, mobility, and defence readiness," the message said.
At the same time, Militarnyi reports that this is the second batch of new self-propelled guns under the contract with Nexter from June 2024. Estonia received the first batch of six howitzers in January 2025.
According to the contract, the country is to receive a total of 12 artillery systems. In addition, the contract includes an option to order additional self-propelled guns.
By the way, in the spring, Le Monde reported that 90% of barrels for the CAESAR self-propelled guns, manufactured by the French defense association KNDS, are being sent to Ukraine.
KNDS has also increased the production of artillery systems. If before the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the association's factories produced two self-propelled guns per month, then in the spring the publication wrote about 6 CAESARs per month. By the end of 2025, the figure is planned to be increased to 12 units per month.
