Israeli company Elbit Systems Ltd. announced that it has signed a contract worth $1.635 billion to supply a range of defense solutions to an unnamed European country. The contract is scheduled for five years.
The list includes two groups of technological solutions. The first includes long-range high-precision artillery and missile systems and a number of reconnaissance and strike drones at the tactical and operational levels, as well as personal drones.
The second group includes electronic warfare systems, electro-optical systems, kits for modernizing combat vehicles, and other protective systems, details of which the manufacturer does not provide.
Also on the list are intelligence solutions from the C4ISR command and control program complex, which cover all operational levels, from the army's strategic headquarters to the tactical level and even a separate combat vehicle.
In addition, the contract stipulates industrial cooperation with a European country that has ordered the weapons. This was emphasized by Elbit Systems President and CEO Bezhalel (Bucsi) Makhlis.
The German Ministry of Defense previously awarded Elbit Systems a contract to supply laser protection systems for the A400M aircraft. These systems are designed to shoot down missiles equipped with thermal homing heads.
