Denmark is providing Ukraine with free access to European satellite services as part of cooperation with the European Defense Agency (EDA), the Danish Ministry of Defense reported.

This is a solution that will provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with receiving terminals for connecting to stable and secure satellite communications. This should significantly strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian army in countering Russian aggression.

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen noted that space technologies are becoming increasingly important in the defense sector, and supporting Ukraine is a contribution to common security. The transfer of terminals will ensure uninterrupted operation management and the stable functioning of communication systems at the front.

The European Defense Agency expressed hope that other EU countries will join the initiative. The assistance will also contribute to the technological autonomy of both Ukraine and Europe in the space segment.

The Ukrainian side has requested such solutions before, which indicates the relevance and urgent need for high-quality satellite communications for conducting combat operations.

By the way, Denmark previously announced an investment of $5 million in the D3 defense technology venture fund to support Ukrainian defense tech. It also became known that Denmark will become the first country to which Ukraine will export its own defense technologies. The goal of this export is to improve and scale up the production of Ukrainian weapons for the Defense Forces.
