Electronic warfare on wheels: Ukrainian company develops system to protect cars from drones

- 25 July, 01:13 PM

The Ukrainian company Kvertus has developed a special electronic warfare system for cars. It is called AD CERBERUS and has an effective range of over 100 m - depending on the conditions of use.

"KVERTUS AD CERBERUS is a modular electronic warfare (EW) system designed for installation on vehicles to protect them from attacks by radio-controlled UAVs. It features external antennas and allows users to configure EW systems with a customized set of 1 to 12 frequency bands," the company's website states.

The company explained that the system is based on a modular principle. The AD CERBERUS user can assemble up to three modules or use just one.

"One module can have 1–4 interference frequency ranges, of your choice. That is, we have a kind of "EW IKEA", adaptive and affordable," the Kvertus post on Facebook also says.

The manufacturer specified that the interference is emitted by quadrifilar antennas, which create reliable dome protection. The company's website also states that the continuous operation time of the electronic warfare system is up to 12 hours after each one-hour break when operating from a 220 V AC network. And the device's operational readiness time is no more than 30 seconds.

It was also recently announced that Kvertus is launching its AD Berserk robot into mass production. This NRC has a range of 20 km, autonomy of up to 12 hours, and a control range of up to 20 km.
