On September 14, 2025, special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine destroyed the 9K317M "Buk-M3" anti-aircraft missile system of the Russian troops.

As reported in the Telegram channel of the GUR, the equipment was discovered near the settlement of Oleksandrivka in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. After identifying the target, a fire attack was carried out by a drone, as a result of which the complex was destroyed.

The Buk-M3 is a Russian medium-range surface-to-air missile system that entered service in 2016. It is capable of engaging aircraft, helicopters, cruise and ballistic missiles, and drones at ranges of up to 70 km and altitudes of up to 35 km. The system is reported to cost between $40 million and $50 million.

It was previously reported that units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces shot down a Russian Orion attack drone worth over $5 million.
