British company BAE Systems has announced a significant expansion of its staff and increased investment amid growing global demand for defense technology, the UK Defence Journal reports.
In 2025, the company plans to hire 2,400 new employees, including apprentices, students and graduates, to strengthen its operational capabilities.
BAE Systems reported a strong start to the year, in line with management's expectations. In its update, the company stressed the importance of long-term program commitments to customers and investment in business development.
The company has increased capital expenditure to £1 billion from 2024, which includes the construction of an explosives filling plant in South Wales, a shipbuilding yard in Glasgow and a repair base in Florida.
BAE Systems forecasts revenue growth of 7-9% in 2025, as well as an increase in underlying profit of 8-10%. Key contracts include deals worth $356 million for armored vehicles and $360 million for amphibious combat vehicles for the US Marine Corps.
The company plans to direct investments into advanced technologies, including electronic warfare systems, autonomous platforms, laser weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles, and space developments.
CEO Charles Woodburn emphasized that maintaining leadership positions in these areas plays a key role in the company's future development.
