The Defense Procurement Agency announced tenders for FPV drones for the first time by TTX
The Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) has announced the first tenders for the purchase of FPV drones according to the tactical and technical characteristics (TTC). The corresponding procurements appeared on the Prozorro platform. The total expected cost is over UAH 3.3 billion:
- 11 lots for the amount of UAH 2,057,875,582
- 8 lots for the amount of 1,316,050,650 UAH
Procurement will be based on the drones' performance characteristics, rather than their model names. This has allowed for a wider range of suppliers to be involved — 19 companies have currently been selected for framework agreements.
"For the first time, AOZ is purchasing FPV drones not by model names, but by tactical and technical characteristics. This is a fundamentally new approach that opens the market to a wider range of manufacturers, allows the military to purchase the necessary weapons, while maintaining competition and transparency. And the framework agreement mechanism allows us to conduct purchases faster among already qualified manufacturers," commented Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of AOZ.
According to Oleksandr Osadchy, head of the procurement department of the Ministry of Defense, FPV drones are critically important for modern warfare — they reduce risks for the military and allow for effective targeting. Procurement takes place in the closed Prozorro module, which guarantees the protection of sensitive information. Proposals can be submitted directly or through an official representative.
