90% of produced barrels for CAESAR self-propelled guns are sent to Ukraine – Le Monde
90% of barrels for the CAESAR self-propelled guns, manufactured by the French defense association KNDS, are being sent to Ukraine. This is reported by Focus with reference to Le Monde.
According to the publication, KNDS has also significantly increased the production of CAESAR artillery systems . If before the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the association's factories produced two self-propelled guns per month, now the figure has reached six. By the end of 2025, the figure is planned to be increased to 12 units per month.
Meanwhile, the La Chapelle-Saint-Journais plant has doubled its production of 155mm artillery shells, with plans to produce up to 100,000 rounds by the end of this year.
Given the increase in production rates, the enterprises of the association have expanded their staff. According to media reports, since 2022, KNDS has hired 160 new specialists. This year, the number of employees should increase by another 50 people.
In October 2024, it became known that Ukraine received 67 CAESAR 155 mm wheeled artillery mounts from France.
