Salaries of non-technical IT specialists: the highest median is for lawyers – it reaches $2,415
The DOU portal analyzed the salaries of non-technical specialists, as well as technical writers and Technical Support in the winter of 2025. For this, the responses of 1,530 specialists working in non-technical areas were used - 1,465 of them are currently in Ukraine, 65 are abroad, but plan to return.
The estimate shows that the highest median salary among non-technical IT professionals is for lawyers ($2,415). In addition, the median (excluding bonuses) in HR ($2,000) is slightly higher than the earnings of Learning & Development specialists ($1,500) and recruiters ($1,300).
Similar salaries are seen for technical writers ($2,000), marketing specialists ($1,836), and finance, accounting, and auditing specialists ($1,750). However, the median (excluding bonuses) is lower for Customer Success ($1,650), Branding and Communications specialists, and Sales and Business Development ($1,500).
DOU analysis also shows that the lowest median salaries are for support specialists ($1,090 in Technical Support and $1,000 in Customer Support), office managers, and administrators ($900).
In general, according to the portal, the salaries of non-technical IT specialists are quite close. At the same time, the median salaries of marketing, sales/bizdev, PR managers, and technical writers are gradually increasing. However, recruiters have negative trends.
The analysis also shows that English language proficiency has a significant impact on salaries, with medians higher for those with an Upper-Intermediate or Advanced level. In addition, it was found that product companies pay slightly higher salaries to non-technical specialists than service companies.
