YouTube is making changes to its online gambling policies, including introducing age restrictions for some videos and banning links and mentions of unauthorized sites.
Starting March 19, 2025, the platform will begin prohibiting any methods of directing viewers to gambling sites that are not Google-certified. This includes URLs, links embedded in images or text, visual displays (including logos), or verbal links.
However, videos that do not violate YouTube's Community Guidelines but contain images or advertisements for online casino sites or apps may be age-restricted. Any online gambling content, with the exception of sports betting and depictions of live gambling, will not be available to viewers under 18.
YouTube also notes that any videos promising guaranteed returns will be removed, regardless of whether the gambling sites or apps are certified by Google.
