YouTube has released a new report that demonstrates the significant impact of its creative ecosystem on the U.S. economy. According to a study by Oxford Economics, YouTube contributed more than 490,000 full-time jobs and added more than $55 billion to the country’s GDP by 2024.
YouTube's creative ecosystem includes not only creators, but also everyone who works with them — including video editors, assistants, PR specialists, and employees of creator-supporting companies like Patreon, Spotter, and Linktree.
These figures continue to grow, despite a decrease in venture capital investments in this area. Compared to 2022, the number of jobs created increased by 100 thousand, and the contribution to GDP increased by $20 billion.
YouTube remains one of the most reliable platforms for monetizing content. Creators who meet the requirements of the partner program can receive 55% of advertising revenue, which brings them a stable income.
