The YouTube app no longer supports iPhones with iOS 15
Google has removed support for some older iPhone and iPad models with the release of version 20.22.1 of the YouTube app for iOS. After this update, the app will no longer support devices running iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, MacRumors reports.
These changes mean that owners of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, as well as the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the first-generation iPhone SE, and all older models will no longer be able to run the app on their devices.
However, the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4, which did not receive the update to iOS 16, will also lose support for the YouTube app. Another device that will no longer support the video service app is the iPad touch 7.
Owners of the listed devices will still be able to watch videos through the web version of YouTube, although it will be less convenient.
Interestingly, almost a year ago, YouTube version 19.21.2 was released on iOS, which removed support for devices running iOS 14 / iPad OS 14.
We remind you that the WWDC conference will be held on June 9, where Apple plans to rebrand its operating systems and start using the year for the version name, such as iOS 26 and macOS 26.
