The Sony Xperia 1 VII smartphone, expected to be unveiled in May 2025, has appeared in new renders published by XpertPick together with insider OnLeaks.
The Xperia 1 VII's appearance and dimensions will remain relatively unchanged from the VI. The smartphone will be slightly thicker and wider than its predecessor, but will retain the same 6.5-inch OLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 4K resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The right edge houses the power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner, volume rocker, and a dedicated camera button. The left edge will be completely clean and will not have any buttons. However, the smartphone will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, which will be placed on the top edge, and the bottom will have a hybrid SIM and microSD slot along with a USB-C port.
The Xperia 1 VII will retain the same components on the back: a vertical camera module with several additional sensors. The main camera is expected to have a 48 MP module with optical stabilization and will be complemented by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12 MP telephoto camera with a focal length of 70-200 mm. On the front there will be a 12 MP front camera.
Other known specs include a Snapdragon 8 Elite paired with 12 or 16 GB of RAM, 256 or 512 GB of storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 30 W charging support. The smartphone will ship with Android 15 on board.
The Sony Xperia 1 VII is expected to be priced at $1,399 when it launches in May. Other details are not yet known.
