Xiaomi's upcoming flagship 16 has passed certification ahead of its announcement in September

According to the latest information, the upcoming Xiaomi 16 flagship will be announced in September. This will happen right after the announcement of the flagship Qualcomm chip that the smartphone will run on. According to GSMArena, the smartphone has already received EEC (European Economic Community) certification, which is necessary for a global launch. Interestingly, its predecessor was introduced to the international market at the MWC 2025 exhibition in February. But, given the September announcement of the Xiaomi 16 in China, it is unlikely that Xiaomi will wait until February with the global launch. So, we should expect the smartphone by the end of this year.

The Xiaomi 16 model number for the global market is 25113PN0EG. The Chinese model will have a "C" at the end instead of a "G", while the Indian model will have an "I". According to previous rumors, the Xiaomi 16 will receive a 7000 mAh battery, a flat OLED display with a diagonal of 6.3 to 6.39 inches and a triple rear camera with modules of 50 megapixels each. The main camera will receive a 1/1.3-inch sensor, and the telephoto camera will have a periscope lens.
