XGIMI introduces two portable projectors under $300
Chinese company XGIMI, which specializes in projection systems for home and business, has introduced two new portable projectors, the Play 6 and Play 6e. Both models have a built-in 360-degree suspension. The new products are already available in China for $290 and $250, respectively. The devices will appear on the global market later.
The projectors feature a minimalist appearance and compact dimensions. The built-in suspension allows for easy and smooth projection adjustment, and the intuitive design allows you to quickly set autofocus and start viewing.
Inside, the Play 6 and 6e use Digital Light Processing (DPL) technology combined with a 0.23-inch DMD chip to deliver 600 CVIA lumens. The projectors support native 1080p resolution and can also play 2K or 4K content. The throw ratio for the Play 6 is 1.21:1, while the 6e is 1.2:1.
Returning to the topic of portability, the XGIMI Play 6 is equipped with a 20,000 mAh battery, which should provide 2.5 hours of video playback and up to 6 hours in audio mode. The Play 6e does not have a built-in battery. At the same time, both models can be used as a Bluetooth speaker when the projector lid is closed.
For audio playback, the projectors feature dual 6W speakers, and in the case of the Play 6, they are branded by Harman Kardon. They support Dolby Audio and 360-degree surround sound.
However, both models feature MT-9 series processors, 1.5GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and run on GMUI 6.0. The devices support AirPlay, DLNA, and the XGIMI proprietary app. Other connectivity options include HDMI, USB, and Type-C, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1.
