Microsoft plans to introduce its first portable gaming console, codenamed "Keenan," by the end of 2025, which will compete with the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch 2, according to a report by Windows Central.
According to new information, the device is being developed in collaboration with the gaming PC manufacturer and will have a distinctive Xbox design. The console will run on a full version of Windows, allowing users to use the Microsoft Store, PC Game Pass, as well as install Steam, Epic Games Launcher, and other PC gaming applications.
The device is expected to feature Xbox Game Bar features that will allow you to control parameters such as TDP and fan speed. Microsoft is also working on adapting its OS for this console, but it is not yet known at what level.
In parallel, the company is working on the next generation of Xbox consoles, which is scheduled for release in 2027. The new devices may be closer to Windows, which will make it easier to port games from PCs to them.
