The Xbox app will collect games from all services in one place
After several months of testing, Microsoft has released an update to the Xbox app for PC and handheld consoles on Windows 11 that allows you to collect games from different platforms, such as Steam, Epic Games Store, and others, into a single library.
The program will automatically detect installed launchers, including GOG and Battle.net, and add existing games. In addition, users will be able to enable or disable the display of games from other stores in the settings.
On a game's page in the Xbox app, users will be able to either open the platform from which it was installed (e.g. Steam) or immediately launch the game itself, which will automatically activate the appropriate launcher.
Now, your most recently launched games from all stores will appear in the "Most Recent" sidebar, where you can quickly launch one of your most recent games. In addition, "My Library" will also display your installed apps.
"This new tab in my library brings third-party apps and storefronts together in one convenient place, supporting the aggregated gaming library so you can find, download, and launch games from multiple locations, without switching between apps or your desktop," Microsoft said in an announcement.
