xAI has released the open source code for its Grok 2.5 chatbot

Elon Musk's xAI company has released the open source code for its Grok 2.5 artificial intelligence model on the Hugging Face open source platform. Musk announced this on the X social network, noting that Grok 2.5 was the company's best model in 2024. According to him, the next version, Grok 3, will also be open sourced in about six months.

The current version is the Grok 4, which was introduced in July of this year. xAI calls it "the most powerful AI model in the world." At the same time, the model reportedly refers to Elon Musk's posts on the social network X before answering controversial questions.

Grok has previously attracted attention for its controversial behavior, with the chatbot expressing distrust of US Democrats, criticizing Jewish Hollywood executives, and comparing itself to Hitler. xAI later apologized for Grok's "horrible" behavior, blaming it on a bot's code update.
