NVIDIA and Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI have joined the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), a consortium that aims to expand artificial intelligence infrastructure in the U.S. The AIP also includes Microsoft, BlackRock, and investment fund MGX.
AIP was founded in September 2024. In its initial phase, the partnership aims to raise $30 billion in capital from investors, asset owners, and corporations, which in turn will allow it to mobilize up to $100 billion in total investment potential, including debt financing.
The addition of NVIDIA and xAI, leaders in AI technology, will strengthen AIP's efforts to scale open architecture platforms and allow it to "develop a broad ecosystem that supports a wide range of partners on a non-exclusive basis."
AIP investments will primarily be directed to the United States, as well as OECD member countries and U.S. partner countries, the companies said in a statement.

AI factories built on NVIDIA’s full-stack AI infrastructure will convert data into intelligence that will accelerate every industry and help society achieve unimaginable breakthroughs," said NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang.
