Wu-Tang Clan returns to the world of video games with the project Rise of the Deceiver

- 7 June, 03:14 AM

Legendary New York hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan announced a new video game, Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver, during the Summer Game Fest festival and at the opening of the band's farewell tour, The Verge reports. The project is being developed by Brass Lion Entertainment and is an anime-style cooperative action game in which players receive abilities from members of the Wu-Tang Clan and fight invaders threatening their home.

The game was in development for three years and was originally intended as a companion piece to the Ghostface Killah-produced and RZA-directed film Angel of Dust. The developers emphasize that Rise of the Deceiver is made "for the culture," as most hip-hop games only use the genre as a backdrop without delving into its history and art.

Special attention is paid to the music: the game will feature a dynamic system that reacts to the player's actions, creating a unique audio experience. The soundtrack will include classic Wu-Tang tracks, as well as remixes, orchestral versions, and new compositions.

Rise of the Deceiver will be the second Wu-Tang Clan game after Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style, which was released in 1999. The new game promises to be interesting not only to fans of hip-hop and the group, but also to a wide audience of gamers. The game will be available on PC in the Steam and Epic Games Store game stores. The exact release date of the game is not yet known.
