Microsoft has started testing a new feature in Windows 11 beta that allows you to create animated GIFs directly in the operating system. The update applies to the standard Snipping Tool application, which is currently only used for screenshots and videos.
The new feature, available in Windows Dev and Canary builds, lets you record short videos of a selected area of your screen and immediately export them as GIFs. The maximum recording length is 30 seconds, and users can adjust the quality from low to high, which affects the size and clarity of the image.
This innovation simplifies the creation of visual content, which is especially useful for publications on social networks, creating instructions or technical demonstrations. Previously, users had to turn to third-party programs for this. Now the function is integrated directly into the system, which increases convenience and functionality.
This feature is expected to arrive in the stable version of Windows 11 later.
