Meta is working on a new feature for WhatsApp that will allow users to communicate with people who don't have the app or even an account on the messenger. This possibility was discovered by WABetaInfo specialists.
The new feature, likely to be called Guest Chat, will allow WhatsApp users to send a link to a new chat to people in their contact list who don't yet have an account on the messenger. The link can be shared via SMS, email, social media, or any other means of communication.
Guest chats will have some limitations compared to regular chats. For example, users will not be able to share photos, videos, and GIFs. These chats will not support voice or video messages at this time, and users will not be able to initiate voice or video calls.
Another limitation will be the inability to create group chats. At the same time, the advantage will remain end-to-end encryption. So no one else will be able to read your messages.
It is unknown when the new feature will appear in the application.
