New trailer for Predator: Badlands reveals a surprising plot twist

20th Century Studios has released (via The Verge) a teaser trailer for Predator: The Badlands, which will hit theaters on November 7. In this film, director Dan Trachtenberg, known for the Predator: Prey spin-off, offers a new take on the iconic franchise.

The story follows a young Predator who becomes an outcast among his people and finds himself on a dangerous planet where every creature seeks to destroy him. The protagonist is forced to team up with a human to survive. At the same time, he remains a Predator and must confront a particularly dangerous creature to regain his respect. This film offers a new approach to the franchise, making the Predator the central character.

Additionally, the Predator universe is expanding with the animated anthology series Killer of Killers, which will premiere on Hulu on June 6. It follows three separate encounters between humans and the Yawtza, a race of hunters who hunt for sport. The story spans different historical periods, including a Viking raider, a samurai from feudal Japan, and an Allied pilot during World War II.
