vivo launches X300 and X300 Pro with Ultra-level cameras and support for interchangeable telephoto lenses
Vivo has unveiled its flagship smartphones, the X300 and X300 Pro, which bring the camera specs closer to the Ultra lineup. Both models support the same interchangeable telephoto lens that first appeared in the X200 Ultra.
The main focus is on photography. The smartphones are equipped with a new 200-megapixel HPB sensor, created in collaboration with Samsung. In the X300 Pro, it is used for an 85 mm telephoto lens, while the main camera has a Sony LYT-828 sensor with improved aperture. All three cameras support 4K video recording at 120 frames per second and 10-bit Log format.
The base X300 also features Samsung's 200MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide module. Both models are compatible with a 2.35x telephoto lens, which attaches to the body via a special case and is sold separately.
The smartphones are built on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip — a competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 — and support 90W fast charging, 40W wireless charging, IP68/69 protection, and ultrasonic fingerprint scanners.
The X300 Pro has a 6.78-inch display and a 6,510 mAh battery, while the X300 has a 6.31-inch screen and a 6,040 mAh battery. The manufacturer claims that thanks to the new silicon-carbon technology, their battery life is equivalent to 7,500 and 7,000 mAh batteries.
Smartphone sales have already started in China: the vivo X300 costs from $620, and the X300 Pro — from $745. The telephoto lens is sold separately for $180 or together with accessories in the Photography Kit for $210. The global release of the devices is expected later with the new OriginOS 6 system, which will replace Funtouch OS.
