The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the National Semiconductor Association.
As stated in the message of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, this cooperation will take place within the framework of the implementation of the Strategy for Digital Development of Innovations until 2030 WINWIN.
The memorandum identified the steps to develop the field:
▪️implementation of scientific developments into production;
▪️participation in international initiatives;
▪️assistance to Ukrainian companies in entering global markets;
▪️supporting startups through mentoring programs and funding;
▪️strengthening cyber protection of semiconductor production systems;
▪️training specialists and creating specialized educational programs.
The department recalled that chips are the basis of almost all digital products - from smartphones and washing machines to missiles. According to the former Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Valeria Ionan, the development of our own chip production is a strategic response to global challenges. "This will help us reduce dependence on foreign markets, diversify the economy and establish ourselves as a prominent player in global technology policy," Valeria Ionan said.

Today it became known that Valeria Ionan has completed her term as Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation. She announced that she will remain in the team and work as an advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on innovation, digitalization and global partnerships. According to her, the new role will allow her to continue working for the state "more strategically, on a larger scale and even more effectively", focusing on innovation and international relations.
Recall that the Ministry of Digital Transformation is considering alternative options for small-scale chip production, which can be implemented in 1-2 years.
