Following the recent mass protests in Los Angeles over Trump's new policy against illegal immigrants, Apple stores have been the target of looting, Forbes reports. However, thieves hoping to get free iPhones got a nasty surprise - the stolen devices were remotely locked and began to loudly signal about it.

A video has surfaced online showing iPhones stolen from stores displaying the message: "Please return the device to the Apple Tower store. This device has been disabled and is being tracked. Local authorities will be notified." The smartphones also set off loud alarms, attracting attention.

It is reported that in addition to Apple, other stores, including T-Mobile and Adidas, were also affected by looter attacks.

These and other riots were sparked by Trump's immigration raids across Los Angeles, aimed at deporting thousands of illegal immigrants. This led to massive clashes between protesters and law enforcement, during which some took the opportunity to loot. One video shows an Apple store being looted.

As for stolen iPhones, the looters actually got a "brick." This is because Apple has special software that blocks stolen iPhones when they leave the store's Wi-Fi network. Thus, it is simply impossible to steal Apple devices without consequences.
