US Vice President believes AI exemption from regulation is good for workers and innovators

- 19 March, 12:40 PM

Speaking at the Andreessen Horowitz American Dynamism Summit in Washington, US Vice President J.D. Vance said the Trump administration’s support for AI and technology innovation should benefit both populists and tech investors, TechCrunch reports.

He noted that there is too much fear that AI will simply replace jobs, when in fact the technology can complement many processes. Vance acknowledged that new technologies may lead to the loss of some jobs, but history shows that innovation usually creates new, more interesting and high-paying opportunities.

He also stressed that the government has not paid enough attention to the issues of workers, populists and techno-optimists over the past 40 years. The Trump administration, by not introducing strict regulations on AI, is giving the tech sector freedom to innovate.

By the way, it recently became known that OpenAI and Google appealed to the Trump administration with a request to protect companies developing AI from the growing number of government regulations. However, Hollywood did not like this. Many creative workers in the film industry are calling for AI companies not to be allowed to "exploit" copyrighted works.
