Spotify is working on a new feature that will allow users to import their playlists from other music services directly, without third-party tools, Android Authority reports.
Currently, users have to use third-party tools or manually create playlists from scratch to transfer tracks or playlists from other platforms to Spotify. However, new code discovered by Android Authority in Spotify app version 9.0.56.459 suggests that changes are coming.
According to an excerpt from the internal code, the new feature will be located in the "Your Library" tab. The text lines mention the name "Import your music" and a message stating that an internet connection is required to perform this action.
Although the exact mechanism of the tool's operation is still unknown, it is likely that it involves the ability to import playlists - the most popular request among users switching to Spotify from other platforms.
It should be noted that Spotify is currently able to recognize local audio files, but the import function will be a separate development designed to simplify migration from other services.
