According to the latest rumors and leaks, Apple plans to introduce its first foldable smartphone, likely called the iPhone Fold, in the second half of 2026. More and more information about this device is appearing online, and this time, one of the informants has revealed the specifications of the upcoming foldable iPhone.
According to preliminary information from insider @Jukanlosreve, the device will receive a 2-nm Apple A20 Pro chip, which will debut next year, as well as a proprietary Apple C2 modem. It is known that the new product will have 12 GB of RAM and will be released in configurations with 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of permanent memory.
It is reported that the foldable iPhone will have two main 48 MP cameras (main + ultra-wide-angle), an internal 7.8-inch display and an external screen with a diagonal of 5.5 inches - noticeably smaller than that of competitors. When folded, the thickness of the device will be 9-9.5 mm, when unfolded - 4.5-4.8 mm. Other characteristics are not yet known.
A comparison chart shared by @Jukanlosreve shows the new device alongside the Samsung Galaxy Fold 7, Galaxy Fold SE, and Huawei Mate XT. The iPhone Fold is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 series in September next year.
The price of the device has not yet been confirmed: according to some sources it will be around $1800, according to others - in the range of $2100–2300. In any case, the gadget promises to be expensive.
