Apple plans to update the Health app in iOS 19.4 next year, adding a new AI-powered doctor feature, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports.
The feature will provide personalized health recommendations and be accompanied by videos from medical experts. For example, if the Apple Watch detects a worsening heart rhythm, the user will receive a video about heart disease risks. There is a possibility that the feature will become part of the Apple Health+ service.
The app will also gain nutrition tracking capabilities, allowing it to compete with MyFitnessPal.
Apple also plans to integrate AI workout coaching into Health to help improve exercise technique, a feature that could eventually become part of Apple Fitness+.
iOS 19 is expected in September of this year, and iOS 19.4 is expected in March or April 2026.
