Google Drive has a new feature that lets you view videos by thumbnails when you hover over the progress bar, similar to YouTube. The feature will be available for all new videos uploaded via the web interface or mobile app. However, the thumbnails themselves can only be seen in the web version of Google Drive.
According to the company, this addition is designed to improve user interaction with video content and speed up the search for the desired fragment in it. It is emphasized that the feature does not apply to old videos uploaded before the launch of this update.
Google notes that the update will be gradually available to all users: Google Workspace subscribers, individual subscribers, and personal account holders.
Early access to the feature has been open since July 22, and the start of wide deployment is scheduled for August 20 of this year.
