Ukrainian game Hollow Home is on the list of Gamescom Award nominees
The list of Gamescom Award nominees in the category for the greatest impact includes the Ukrainian isometric narrative RPG about the siege of Mariupol Hollow Home from the Kyiv studio Twigames Inc. You can vote for it on the official Gamescom website. What is no less important is what Hollow Home is about.
The game tells the story of the Russian invasion of Ukraine through the eyes of 14-year-old teenager Maksym. The events begin on February 23, 2022 - in the last 24 hours of the protagonist's childhood.
On February 24, Max wakes up to the sound of explosions. The boy will have to survive in a new reality while Russian troops destroy his city. The gameplay of Hollow Home relies on dialogues and branching quest lines to tell the story of a city that is gradually fading away.
The game lacks any combat system and no real violence. Instead, the focus is on the aftermath of war. Players will have to explore the city, get to know its residents, and try to help. However, as time goes on, the decisions will become more difficult.
Other nominees in the category include Cairn, Forever Skies, Monowave and Tiny Bookshop. The Gamescom Award also includes voting in categories such as best visuals, best audio, best gameplay, most entertaining game, most epic game, cutest game, best Microsoft, PlayStation, Nintendo and PC game, and best mobile game.
