Some RTX 50 series graphics cards have recently been found to have performance issues. NVIDIA has confirmed that this is a manufacturing defect – some rasterization blocks are missing in the GeForce RTX 5090/5090D and RTX 5070 Ti models. Now the company has admitted that the same issue has affected the RTX 5080, writes The Verge.

"Upon further investigation, we’ve identified that an early production build of GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs were also affected by the same issue. Affected consumers can contact the board manufacturer for a replacement," said NVIDIA GeForce PR Director Ben Berraondo.

Berraondo said that the RTX 5070 graphics cards were not affected by this issue. Overall, the defect rate is only 0.5% of all cards shipped. The impact on graphics performance is estimated at 4% on average, while AI and compute workloads were not affected. Recently released graphics cards should not be affected, as the manufacturing issue has already been fixed.
