Amazon suspends air delivery after two drone crashes

Amazon is suspending its Prime Air delivery service after two MK30 drones crashed into a crane in the US city of Tollison, Arizona, AZFamily reports.

According to eyewitness accounts, the collisions occurred within minutes of each other. A police and fire department investigation revealed that the two drones were flying northeast toward each other when they both crashed into a long crane being used for roof work at the facility.

Police also said one of the Amazon drones fell to the ground in the same parking lot near a crane, while a second one landed in the parking lot of another business. There were no reports of injuries.

Sources say Prime Air drone operations are currently suspended. It is unclear when they will resume.

"We’re aware of an incident involving two Prime Air drones in Tolleson, Arizona. We’re currently working with the relevant authorities to investigate," an Amazon spokesperson said.
