Donald Trump has changed his mind about Intel CEO
On August 7, 2025, the US President called on Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan to resign. However, less than a week later, Donald Trump radically changed his mind and began to admire the CEO's story.
In a new post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that he had a meeting with Lip-Bu Tan along with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant.
"The meeting was a very interesting one. His [Lip-Bu Tan's] success and rise is an amazing story. Mr. Tan and my Cabinet members are going to spend time together, and bring suggestions to me during the next week," the post said.
The suggestions are likely related to Lip-Bu Tan's ties to China, which is why Trump initially called for him to step down as Intel CEO. After Trump's first post, Tan addressed the company's employees, saying that he loves the United States and Intel, and considers it a privilege to lead the company.
Tang also almost immediately expressed his willingness to cooperate with the Trump administration, and called accusations of ties to companies closely linked to the Chinese government disinformation.
