Threads already has over 400 million monthly active users
Meta’s social network Threads continues to grow rapidly and has already surpassed 400 million monthly active users, Fast Company reports. For comparison, the platform had 350 million users in May 2025.
According to Similarweb, Threads’ mobile numbers are approaching X’s: in June, Threads had 115.1 million daily mobile users, compared to X’s 132 million. That’s a 128% year-over-year increase for Threads and a 15% decline for X.
When Threads launched in 2023, Mark Zuckerberg set a goal of making it a platform for public conversations with over a billion users. After its first year, the social network still needed to grow in terms of features and user base. However, by 2025, Threads had added key features, including private messaging and a focus on external links.
