After Google officially stopped selling Chromecast in favor of TV Streamer in February 2025, French company Thomson decided to offer its own alternative and introduced the Thomson Cast 150.
The Cast 150 looks very similar to Google's Chromecast. It has a built-in HDMI cable, Google TV-enabled software, and Google's video streaming technology.
As for other features, the Thomson Cast 150 supports 4K, HDR10, and Dolby Atmos, but only 8 GB of memory, which may not be enough for installing apps or downloading videos. The device comes pre-installed with YouTube, Netflix, Disney Plus, and a few other apps, and also supports free channels.
Thomson Cast 150 is similar to Chromecast in terms of price. The new product costs €69, the same as the Chromecast with 4K support. Currently, the device is available only in Europe, and a launch in the UK is planned in the near future. In addition, the company has official distributors in Ukraine, so potentially the new product may appear in our country as well.
