Today, the Kickstarter campaign for survival horror The Sinking City 2 from Kiev-based studio Frogwares launched. In just a few hours, the game raised the required amount of $108,035 and has already surpassed it. At the time of writing, $132,223 has already been raised.
"After 3 years of a horrific war looming over our daily lives, we have learned to adapt, although it has never been easy. In 2023, when we released Sherlock Holmes The Awakened with the help of Kickstarter and our loving fans, we created a safety net for ourselves that has saved us more than once. This safety net has been extremely important to help us during power outages or the need to immediately relocate team members, or suspend development for a few days. Given that The Sinking City 2 is a much more complex and demanding game, we decided to follow the same path as before."Wael Amr, CEO of Frogwares
To mark the launch of the campaign, Frogwares released the game's first gameplay trailer, which features both familiar monsters from the first part and new ones, as well as locations and the process of collecting evidence.
The protagonist of The Sinking City 2 must survive the flooded streets of Arkham City, fight ugly monsters, gather resources, and try not to go crazy. Searching for evidence and secrets is an optional part of the game that can reveal an additional part of the world's history.
The Sinking City 2 uses Frogwares' new Unreal 5 engine. The game is scheduled to be released in late 2025 ( this date seems too optimistic to us ) on PC (Steam, EGS, GOG), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S .
