Obsidian Entertainment has revealed a new trailer and release date for The Outer Worlds 2, the sequel to the first-person sci-fi RPG, at the Xbox Game Show case. The game will be released on October 29, 2025.

The Outer Worlds 2 once again immerses players in a satire on capitalism. The trailer showed an Earth Directorate agent fighting corporations for control of dangerous technology. Players will be able to use a wide arsenal of unusual weapons, including freeze weapons, explosions, and even compression beams.

The game is expected to offer a variety of playstyles, including multiple ways to avoid direct combat. The Outer Worlds 2 will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and streaming via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The price deserves special attention: Obsidian's new project will cost $80 for the standard edition on Steam. For Ukrainian players, the game will cost 2499 hryvnias, which is only 50 hryvnias more expensive than the fresh Doom: The Dark Ages.

Given the price of The Outer Worlds 2, it can be assumed that the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will have the same cost, although the release date of the game, like Gears of War: E-Day, the new Fable or the next Forza, has not yet been announced. By the way, we explain the reasons for the increase in game prices in a separate article.

High regional prices for games from Xbox Studios have already become Microsoft's usual practice for Ukrainian players. For example, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle costs 2449 UAH, and Avowed costs 1999 UAH. However, all of these projects are still available in Game Pass, a subscription to which costs 230 UAH per month.

Recall that at the Xbox Games Showcase, a trailer for the new part of A Plague Tale — Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy was also shown. Also, the gameplay of the new game from the creators of The Witcher 3 — The Blood of Dawnwalker was demonstrated for the first time. In addition, Microsoft and ASUS introduced ROG Xbox Ally. This is a new portable game console based on Windows 11.
