The first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu has been released

Nearly a year after filming wrapped on The Mandalorian and Grogu, Disney has finally released the first trailer for the upcoming film. The premiere will also be a bit of a wait — it's set for May 22, 2026.

The film, which will be the first in the Star Wars franchise since the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, takes place after the third season of The Mandalorian.

The story follows Imperial warlords scattered across the galaxy after the fall of the Empire. Meanwhile, the New Republic, formed at the end of season three of The Mandalorian, works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for. To help with this, the new government enlists the support of Mandalorian bounty hunter Dean Jarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grog.

Additionally, The Mandalorian and Grog will also feature Garazeb "Zeb" Aurelios from Star Wars: Rebels, as well as a new character played by Sigourney Weaver, who will play a pilot and New Republic officer who will act as Jarnia's liaison to the main force.
