Naughty Dog and Dark Horse Books have announced the release of The Last of Us: Part I and Part II Scripts, a book that will contain the scripts for the first two games in the series and the expansion Left Behind. The 618-page edition will be released in bookstores on December 16, 2025, Variety reports.
The first game and Left Behind were written by Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann, who collaborated with screenwriter Hallie Gross ( Westworld ) on the second installment. The book will also include a foreword by actor Troy Baker (voice of Joel), artwork by concept artist Hyung Nam, and an original embossed cover that references the game's motifs.
According to Druckmann, the scripts preserve the series' key themes of love, loss, and the search for justice, and for the first time reveal the internal process of story creation. Halley Gross emphasized that this collection is a tribute to the team at Naughty Dog, who invested their talent and dedication into the games.
The book is now available for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and local stores for $54.99.
