The iPhone 16e teardown revealed design details and what made it possible to find space for a larger battery

As is the case with almost every Apple product, as soon as a device goes on sale, someone immediately wants to disassemble it. The iPhone 16e was no exception, and YouTube channel REWA Technology investigated the design features of the debutant last week.

With absolutely no surprises, the iPhone 16e's internals are similar to the previous similar models that served as the basis for the newcomer. The basic layout resembles the iPhone 15, although certain elements, such as the front camera and Face ID sensor block, are borrowed from the iPhone 14.

The back cover has the necessary components for inductive charging as expected, but there are no MagSafe magnetic latches on it.

The iPhone 16e has a battery capacity of 4,005 mAh. For comparison, the iPhone 15 had 3,349 mAh, and the iPhone 16 had 3,561. Since the iPhone 16e uses only one main camera sensor, this frees up space for a larger battery. This is how it was possible to get significantly better battery life.

The battery removal system resembles the one in the iPhone 16. In order for the glue to "release" it, there are two contacts to which voltage is applied, which then allows you to remove the battery more safely without damaging it in the process.

Overall, the design is not very complicated, but it will still require certain skills and special tools to repair and replace individual elements.
