As soon as X (Twitter) stopped working, users of the social network started joking that they would definitely blame Ukrainians for this. And you know what? This joke turned out to be true! In an interview with Fox News, the owner of X (Twitter) Elon Musk spoke about the cyberattack on the social network. According to him, the attackers allegedly used "IP addresses from the Ukrainian region", but he cannot yet say exactly what happened.

Meanwhile, according to threat researchers from Check Point Research (CPR), the pro-Palestinian hacker group Dark Storm Team claimed responsibility for the attack, Newsweek reports. Over the past month, Dark Storm Team has successfully attacked critical infrastructure sites, including Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the Port of Haifa in Israel, and the UAE Ministry of Defense.

A message claiming responsibility for the X (Twitter) outage also allegedly appeared on the group's Telegram channel, but it is currently unavailable.

In any case, Elon Musk seems to have once again taken the opportunity to mention Ukraine, which he has been doing recently in completely different contexts. For example, criticizing liberals in the US for supporting aid to Ukraine, or criticizing President Zelensky, or promoting his "peace plan" that he announced back in 2022. It seems that all of Musk's thoughts are only about Ukraine.

Users on X (Twitter) joke that since the social network's outage graph resembles a Ukrainian trident, it was definitely an attack from Ukraine.
