Tesla deliveries fall again in Q2 2025

- 3 July, 01:21 PM

Tesla has released its second-quarter 2025 electric vehicle delivery results, and they are disappointing again. Compared to the same period last year, the number of electric vehicle deliveries fell by 13.5%, even more than the 10% decline predicted by Wall Street.

According to the company's press release, 384,122 electric vehicles were delivered in the last three months, of which 373,728 were for just the two most popular models – the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. All other electric vehicles accounted for 10,394 units.

At the same time, the company is actively increasing production and over the past three months, 410,244 electric vehicles have been produced, of which 396,835 are Model 3/Y and another 13,409 are all others.

Compared to the second quarter of 2024, when Tesla delivered 443,956 electric vehicles, the drop is 13.48%. Moreover, last year the company's deliveries outpaced production, in a different way from the current results.

This trend has been going on for some time and is caused by the significant negative consequences of Elon Musk's active political activities, as well as increased competition, in particular from Chinese manufacturers.

Elon Musk's company is facing significant problems in the European market, where earlier this year BYD overtook Tesla in sales for the first time. The Chinese company was able to achieve this not so much because of its success as because of Tesla's problems, whose sales are falling sharply.

Tesla will disclose more details about its financial results for the second quarter of 2025 during its financial reporting on July 23.
