Musk's humanoid robot Tesla Optimus learned to dance
Tesla's humanoid robot Optimus has learned to dance. The video was posted by the company's CEO Elon Musk on his X account.
However, Tesla engineer Milan Kovacs also added that the team is actively working on improving the humanoid and will be able to show more soon. He also notes that all training is done through reinforcement learning (RL).
"Many optimizations and fixes have been put in place in our sim-to-real training code," says Kovac.
In addition, Kovacs clarified that the wire that can be seen in the video published by Musk is only there for insurance in case of a fall, as these are only early results.
We remind you that the Optimus humanoids were shown in October 2024 during the We, Robot presentation, where the autonomous Tesla Cybercar taxi and the Tesla Robovan bus were also demonstrated. At that time, however, the robots were remotely controlled by real people. However, active work is currently underway on the humanoid, and Elon Musk said that they plan to produce five thousand robots by the end of 2025.
