TAG Heuer has announced the release of the next generation of its signature smartwatch, the Connected Calibre E5, created in partnership with sports footwear brand New Balance. It is the first joint product between the two companies, combining premium design and sporty features.

The special New Balance Edition features a vibrant purple and green color scheme, a Grade 2 titanium case, and a stretchy strap inspired by the texture of New Balance sneakers.

The device is equipped with a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 (5100+) chip, an AMOLED display with increased sunlight readability, dual GPS and a set of sensors: a heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, step counter and oxygen saturation sensor. The battery lasts for about a day and a half, and a full charge takes 90 minutes.

The watch runs on a new proprietary OS that the company describes as fast and fitness-focused. Features include interactive training plans from New Balance, including marathon, 5K and 10K training programs, as well as "gamified" training tips and analytics with visual results.

Connected Calibre E5 supports full compatibility with iOS and Android, is water resistant up to 50 meters, and supports contactless payment via NFC.

The price of the model depends on the case material and strap: standard versions start at $1,600, while the New Balance Edition costs $2,000.
