With the release of iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, users have received, among other things, a new convenient feature — iPhone Mirroring. It allows you to access your smartphone directly from your computer. However, for Apple users in the European Union, this feature remains unavailable, as does Apple Intelligence.
However, with the release of iOS 18.4, artificial intelligence will finally appear on iPhone users in the EU, and will also add support for more languages. This also gave hope that along with this, iPhone and Mac owners will finally be able to try out iPhone Mirroring. However, according to 9to5Mac, the RC version of iOS 18.4, which is due to be released to the general public in early April, does not activate the function of accessing a smartphone from a computer.
Also, the SharePlay Screen Sharing feature via FaceTime does not work for users in the EU.
Apple previously said this is due to "regulatory uncertainty" stemming from the Digital Markets Act (DMA). It said the "DMA's interoperability requirements" could force "product integrity to be compromised," putting users at risk. Apple has not commented on the lack of this functionality at this time.
So the future fate of iPhone Mirroring for users in the EU is still in question.
